The ZAL Port is growing and in the next four years will have invested 200 million euros to develop 450,000 sqm of logistics warehouses, all of the land that now has available. Most of this soil is in a new area of the ZAL Port - Ciutat, located at the intersection of the street A and the street 2, in Zona Franca of Barcelona.

Since the beginning of this month of July, the ZAL Port has 52,000 sqm news of logistics warehouses. The Logistics Activities Zone of the Port of Barcelona has signed an agreement of purchase with LURI 6 (former BANIF SANTANDER real estate) to advance the extinction of the right of usufruct and temporary ownership of these warehouses. 

The inauguration of the new cold platform of Carrefour in the ZAL Port (Prat) last May 22, he attended with the participation of the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Carles Puigdemont, the Minister of the Territory and Sustainability, Josep Rull, and the President of Puertos del Estado, José Llorca.

Cilsa, the company responsible for the management of the ZAL of the port of Barcelona, together with the catering company Boix Catering, have organized since 2013 the business forum ZAL Port Fòrum.

On Monday, February the 6th,  businessman and President of the CEOE, Joan Rosell, will preside the dinner/Colloquium “2017: ¿ralentización o consolidación?” at the Auditorium of la Zona de Actividades Logísticas.

ZAL Port is one of a handful of legacy projects associated with the olympics that has fulfilled its mandate to create economic and social development. The Company was created as part of the infrastructure development for the 1992 Olympic Games staged in Barcelona.

The APB and Merlin will develop in the next five years 350,000 square meters  in the old Seat plot in the Consortium of the Zona Franca (ZAL Port-Ciutat) and in the ZAL Port (Prat).

Any business collaboration agreement should have a common denominator: the creation of value. Without wishing to use this expression in a bombastic way I sincerely believe that the agreement signed between the terminal BEST (Barcelona Europe South Terminal) and CILSA is new, different and truly adds value to the logistics sector.

In 2015, the ZAL Port, managed by CILSA, had such good results that it is clear that the Port of Barcelona Park is ready to begin a new expansion phase. The decision of Carrefour, based in ZAL Port (Prat) since 2009, to build an additional warehouse destined entirely to their cold product operation is proof that this new phase has already arrived.
