Carrefour renews its confidence in ZAL, Port of Barcelona - ZAL Port of Barcelona

Carrefour renova la seva confiança en la ZAL del Port de BarcelonaBarcelona, March 4th, 2013. Carrefour, a leading company in commercial distribution and hypermarkets in Europe, has signed the renewal of the lease of its wharehouse in the Logistics Activities Area (ZAL) of the Port of Barcelona, from it makes the regional distribution of Catalonia and centers of the Balearic Islands, providing jobs for over 200 people.

The warehouse of Carrefour in ZAL, in July 2009, was an important local investment and it served as a catalyst for the second phase of the logistics platform of the Port of Barcelona, located in the municipality of El Prat de Llobregat. The warehouse was planned as a technical project to measure and it has 44,052 m² and 1,000 m² of offices, built on premises of sustainable development and promoting energy savings.

Carrefour integrates local customs of the places where they are established, which implies a commitment with the economic, social and environmental development. Hence the harmony with CILSA (company that manages ZAL), which from the beginning it was characterized by a highly ethical and technologically cutting-edge management.

In this line, Alfonso Martinez, General Manager of CILSA has stressed that the confidence of a customer of relevance as Carrefour consolidates ZAL as a logistics model in south of Europe.
