CILSA entrega a Transmec de Bortoli una nueva nave de 7.349 m² en la ZAL Port (Prat)

  • The warehouse fulfils the highest criteria of energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Transmec de Bortoli, a global leader in freight transport and logistics services, and CILSA, the company that manages the ZAL of the Port of Barcelona, have completed the construction of 6,229 sqm of warehouse and 1,120 sqm of office that has been delivered to Transmec de Bortoli.

Both companies signed an agreement in August 2019 for the turnkey construction of a new logistics warehouse of 7,349 sqm with LEED Gold Certification on the plot 34.1 of the ZAL Port (Prat) of 13,328 sqm that would respond to the growth needs that Transmec is experimenting for the past few years.

The delivery of this new warehouse is part of all the new construction projects that CILSA is developing at the moment and that add a new surface area in the ZAL Port of more than 270,000 sqm of logistics, configuring a Logistics Park with more than 920,000 sqm of first level logistics warehouses once they have been completed.

The new warehouse is equipped with the most modern technology for logistics activity, and its construction has followed the strictest criteria for energy efficiency and sustainability dictated by the LEED GOLD of the US Green Building Council. The office block is adapted to allow full access for the disabled.

The warehouse has a free height under the girder of the installation with 11.00 m free in the storage area, having made the building envelope using insulated prefabricated sandwich panel and deck built in situ.

The plot is equipped with 45 parking spaces for light vehicles, 32 spaces for light vehicles reserved for the fleet and 2 parking spaces for motorcycles. As equipment, 21 loading docks with automatic sectional doors and exterior shelters. The fire protection installation, made with ESFR sprinklers according to NFPA, and the smoke removal system guarantee a medium risk level 5.

An integrated building management system has been implemented for the control that manages artificial lighting using dimmable low consumption LEDs and natural lighting that exceeds 5% of the surface free of skylights. In addition, photovoltaic panels have been installed on the roof that will produce energy to achieve a peak self-consumption of 14 kw / h.

This new warehouse responds to the current and future growth of Transmec de Bortoli, which is based on its ability to offer a complete range of logistics, multimodal transport and distribution services for industrial, service and retail companies that operate in our country. The company has 20,000 sqm in Spain for storage and distribution, with flexible designs that improve the level of service and reduce costs to its customers. Transmec de Bortoli offers extensive experience in the service of the transport of goods by land, sea or air, as well as in logistics advice, customs management and comprehensive logistics. They focus their activity on the cosmetic, fashion, fitness, chemical industry and automotive sectors.

The activity will concentrate about 75 people and will serve its customers by operating more than 150 vehicles a day.

Alfonso Martínez, CEO of CILSA has pointed out: “For CILSA it is a satisfaction that a company like Transmec de Bortoli grows with us in the ZAL Port and has selected us as its logistics infrastructure partner in Barcelona, confirming the ZAL Port as a reference in the logistics market of Barcelona.”

On his part, Alberto Loeches, general director of Transmec de Bortoli has underlined: “For Transmec De Bortoli Group Spain, it is a pride and a pleasure to grow hand in hand with a company of the prestige of CILSA and we hope to continue growing in the Spanish territory in the coming years, in which we foresee that the growth of our company will be sustained and very significant."
