Kuehne + Nagel expands its logistics infrastructure in the ZAL Port by renting a further 15,325 sqm

The global logistics operator Kuehne + Nagel and CILSA (Centro Intermodal de Logística, S.A., S.M.E.), the company that manages the ZAL Port, have recently signed an agreement to extend their logistics area with two modules of multi-client buildings and one single building (2,998 sqm in the ZAL Port (BCN), 1,808 sqm and 10,519.18 sqm in the ZAL Port (Prat), making a total of 15,325.18 sqm of new area contracted.

Kuehne + Nagel is growing its organisation in Spain, which has allowed it to expand its logistics infrastructure at its Barcelona site, adding to the 11,363 sqm that it leases directly with CILSA on behalf of a large multinational in the distribution sector, and the 13,624 sqm where it set up its branch in Barcelona in 1995 in the ZAL Port, making a sum total of 40,312.18 sqm.

Miguel Ambielle, Managing Director of Kuehne & Nagel Spain, Portugal and Malta, said he was "very satisfied and motivated by the organisation's growth in Spain and the expansion of our activities in the ZAL of the Port of Barcelona, which highlights a clear commitment to expand our logistics infrastructure in the Spanish market and diversify customer-oriented services and logistics solutions.”

Alfonso Martinez, CILSA general manager, noted that "this type of agreements are the result of the efforts made to achieve loyalty among our customers, working with them according to their needs and offering flexible and efficient solutions that enable them to undertake new investment projects while minimising their operational risk. Kuehne + Nagel manages more than 4.5 million TEUs of maritime traffic worldwide each year, therefore this operation is fully adapted to the ZAL Port's”.
