ZAL Port collaborates with Fundesplai

We support the Jove Valor project, which offers training and employment opportunities to young people in situation of unemployment

Fundesplai - an entity from El Prat de Llobregat dedicated to educating children and young people, promoting social inclusion and strengthening the Third Sector, among others - has launched the 3rd edition of Jove Valor. A project aimed at people between 18 and 29 years in situation of unemployment that we support from the ZAL Port.

Jove Valor offers girls and boys a process of training and competence in the field of administration and customer service with a professional experience of 12 months in a company where they learn to develop in an organizational culture, with work habits and a learning environment. In no case these young people provide services or performance effective work. Instead, the companies provide the necessary framework and context to carry out the project in its entirety: that young people learn to work by working.

The success of the project depends on the complicity of the administration and local entities, but the support of the business community is also essential. From the ZAL Port we support this initiative with the aim of helping young people with employability, one of the groups with most difficulties in the labor market. Difficulties that have been accentuated by the current context of pandemic.

This collaboration is integrated into the ZAL Port strategy aimed at social commitment, to the link with the territory and to the people. A management model that prioritizes services and concern for the environment. The creation of the Fundació Cares, an organization that works for the employment of people with functional diversity, or the free space provided to the Fundació Banc dels Aliments, are a clear example of this strategy.

Projects such as Jove Valor help to achieve decent work and the reduction of inequalities, two of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations, priorities for the ZAL Port.
